Salzburg, Austria

September 24th

Salzburg, Austria

We took a 10 hour train ride up to Salzburg, Austria from Rome, Italy.  We were a little shocked at how much colder it became! It is definitely autumn in Austria.  Our main reason for staying in Salzburg is so that we could train 1 and a half hours into Munich for Oktoberfest, since anywhere to stay in the Munich area was at least $300 per night!  Today we decided to stay in the Salzburg area and check out the Salt Mines.

Austria is so beautiful...this was the view from our hotel window!

At Salzburgwerk Salt Mines, we toured the 500 year old salt mines that are still have active mining today!

Getting ready for a solid days work! "Hi ho hi ho its off to work we go!"

Definitely some stylish outfits...thinking that this should be our new dress code in the office!

To get down to the grotto of the salt mine you take an authentic 100 foot long slide that miners used to use!  It was pretty fun!  We were not allowed to bring our cameras into the salt mines so this blog is quite short!  But we bought this slide picture so that we could have proof of our time there!

Next Stop:  Oktoberfest, Munich, Germany!
