NICE, France!

August 27th - 29th

Nice, France

We had both always heard great things about Nice...Steven had even been to Nice once before, but this time was such an amazing experience!  We arrived in Nice exactly ONE MONTH into our trip!  We have see so much, learned so much and have so many more adventures ahead of us!  Dropping our packs off at the hotel, it was only a short walk to the beach.  Well what a glorious beach it was!

Nice is not a white sand beach, but a beach of all smooth stones.  The colour of the water is just incredible!!  We kept thinking that it was blue kool-aid...unfortunately it does not taste like blue kool-aid, it was very salty!

Our first look of the beach along the road.  On the right you can see that they have to import sand to the beach in order to play beach volleyball!

We never head to the beach and just lay down for the whole day, we always seem to hike until we are hot and ready to jump in the water!

Gorgeous views from higher above!

We even found a waterfall, which is something that we feel like we have been missing on this trip!

More beautiful water...can you tell that we liked Nice?

Some natural cactus vegetation.

Dreaming of yachts...wish we were friends with this guy!

Lighthouse

We explored a graveyard, and found really massive tombstones.

After hiking we decided that it was BEACH TIME!!!

The water was a perfect colour, perfect temperature and so clear that you could see little fish swimming underneath you.  We should have brought goggles to see what was all down there!  The water becomes deep very quickly so we swam back and forth for about an hour just enjoying the refreshing water.

Loving life

How peaceful!

Limestone rocks we climbed & explored.

Laundry!  To give you an inside scoop into our daily life on the road, we do laundry when we become desperate for clean clothes!  Luckily we were in Nice for a couple of nights that we were able to wash some clothes and have them hang dry.  For all of you men out there, if you think it is hard to throw clothes in the washing machine, just be thankful that you don't have to hand wash like this!!

If anyone is ever planning on buying a house or villa somewhere in Europe...Nice may just be the perfect place!

Tomorrow we are still staying in Nice, but we take a day trip to Monaco (which Jenna just found out was a separate country!!)
