Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

Tuesday August 7th

Vianden, Luxembourg to Luxembourg City to PARIS!

Today was mostly a travel day!  We traveled from Vianden, Luxembourg to Luxembourg City (the capital of Luxembourg) where we would catch the high speed train down to Paris!

We were not expecting much from Luxembourg City, but as our train came into the city we were welcomed with an incredible looking city.  Now this place looked like a fairy tale.  Good thing we had all afternoon before boarding our train to Paris, because we took our packs and travelled on foot all through the city!

Look at the buildings start super old in the bottom with the church and then old, but newer homes in the middle and modern on the top, such a neat transition.

Everything is built up so high…there are so many different levels

King and Queen of the Castle!

And yet another cobble road!  (we have been observing the different patterns of cobble road in each city!)

A few pictures of our hike, showing the different sites of Luxembourg City:

Architectural Highlight of Luxembourg

This is not as much an architectural highlight but more of an Urban Highlight…we were truly amazed by Luxembourg City...We really loved the huge stone walls, and there were so many gardens that were built up and were being well maintained.
